Police Crime Update for 11 September

Mickaly Mitcham of Jessups Village was formally charged for the offense of Possession of Cannabis which was committed on 7th September 2012 at Jessups Village.

Rohan Hutton of Central Alley, Gingerland and Wilson Jones of Stoney Grove were formally charged for the offenses of House Breaking, Larceny and Receiving committed between 22nd June and 24th July 2012.

COURT CONVICTIONS

Basseterre Magistrate’s Court

Vincent Clerice and Nixon Alexander of Marrigot, St. Lucia who were charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Supply to Another and Importation of Cocaine into the Federation had their case heard on Wednesday 5 September 2012. Vicent Clerice plead Guilty for all three charges while Nixon Alexander plead Not Guilty to all three charges which were withdrawn.

Vincent Clerice was convicted for importation of cocaine into the Federation and sentenced to two years hard labour and fined EC$ 1, 000,000 to be paid in nine months or in default will serve four years imprisonment with hard labour, on completion of the 2 years served , while no further convictions were given in the other two (2) charges.

The Magistrate also ordered the vessel that was involved with the transshipment of the drugs to be forfeited to the Crown and be advertise in the local media for sale, sold at a public auction. It was also ordered that Nixon Alexander be deported to his country of birth at the earliest opportunity; he was therefore deported on Thursday 6 September 2012.

Further evaluation of the drug revealed that it was 134.108 kilograms at an estimated street value of ECC $11, 816, 255.00

ARREST

Clement “Lala” Williams of Lime Kiln was formally charged for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession With Intent to Supply to Another committed on 7th September 2012 at Lime Kiln.

Munroe Llewyn Merrit of Cardin Avenue was formally charged for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession with Intent to Supply to Another committed on 7th September 2012.

Damian Nisbett of Stapleton Village was formally charged for the offences of Driving Vehicle without Insurance, Driving Without a Valid and Unexpried Licence and Driving An Unlicenced Vehicle committed on 7th September 2012.

Livingston Browne of Upper Monkey Hill was formally charged for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession with Intent to Supply to Another committed on 6th September 2012.

Jevon Sutton of Durrant Avenue was formally charged for the offence of Possession of Crack Cocaine committed on 8th September 2012.

COURT CONVICTIONS

Sandy Point Magistrate’s Court

Curtlyn Walters was convicted for the offences of Indecent and Insulting Language and senteced to seventy hours of Community Service at Sandy Point Station commencing 7th September 2012.
